 | I was hoping this would work cause even though I've repaired many phones and tablet screens, it can be a pain in the ass just applying the right amount of glue or double sided tape to hold it back together. Plus some phone screens can be quite expensive and hard to find. The original 2020 Motorola Edge being a prime example.  | I used to be a glazier, many years ago and things do move on and get better, but I'm not sure if glass can be fully repaired to look like new.  | Haha, I already have this windshield resin (i had to fix my car windshield before) and I have a pretty big crack on the same corner on my Samsung (with his ugly waterfall curved screen) as your wife had. It's been a couple of years and I'm on my way to buy a new phone and this phone goes to my daughter BUT... I need to try your way to fix the screen. The only difference that some parts of the cracked screen has been missing, so resin also should fill these gaps, hopefully. | Damn ur wife needs to hold on to stuff. My mom is old 76 and has arthritis she drops stuff sometimes understandable. Ur wife probably doesn't so kinda not understandable.  | these are my observations after trying to repair the screens of 4 different smartphones. 1) wear gloves! you don't want to get glass bits nor resin/epoxy/nail polish on your skin. 2) a phone with a curved edge is difficult to deal with. you can fill in the cracks but the corner or edges may be impossible to smooth out. 3) you can't expect a repair kit to level out the surface for you, it can only fill the cracks. the screen surfaces may need more scraping off with a razor. phones with big cracks may have a raised surface and no amount of scraping will smooth it out. in those cases, I just use packing tape put it over the big cracks, then try to bend the phone surface back to smoothness... this is very risky and could further damage your phone. If I can't get the surface smooth, I just re-tape it with packing tape and leave it alone. 3) use a razor holder because it is safer and easier on your hands.  | a better result would be too first dont do it in the sun, it starts to thicken as soon as uv light hits it which lessens its ability to wick into the cracks , in order to make the crack less visible or maybe even disappear you would need to slight bend the phone to open the cracks for the uv glue to infiltrate the cracks..once that happens the crack will be more likely to disappear.but its too late now cuz the top of the crack will have been sealed, sealing the air inside. It was feeling king of rough on my fingers when holding it, so I ended up putting some crazy glue on the mayor cracks! And somehow it feels a little better!  | OK the issue with the UV rays is probably there’s more influence on the results then you’re giving credit. That is what sets off the bonding reaction it cannot be done in sun light that voids the experiment. A little advice of someone who is always looking for new reviewer‘s and influencers you say this or that happened off-camera way too much don’t say it at all Whether you’re narrating it as you’re doing or if you say it after the fact to verify your conclusions. I apologize I’m recovering from surgery and I have way too much time on my hands.hope this helps! Maybe a time lapse if you need to do something up camera or don’t say it at all if possible.  | You do realize that the liquid for windshields is NOT meant for the thin glass on phones?. There is also a blue light pen that is specifically use to direct a beam to the area. I have TWO Motorola phones (TWO) 3 years apart that shattered on the same corner (upper left side) and I still have no idea how that happened.  | You can't pull off the hardened resin like that, it has to be scraped off. The idea is to cut the resin flush with the surrounding screen to fill the crack, when you pull at it you are pulling bits out of the crack. Комментарий от : @kr09d |
